This is a gorgeous piece of Dragons Blood Jasper that has been skilfully cut into a diamond shape with each edge very nicely bevelled.
The mathematicians among you will know that this shape is more often called a Rhombus !
This is a truly lovely piece and shows off well the patterns and colours that make up Dragons Blood Jasper. A lovely piece to hold and to handle !
Although given the trade name of "Dragons Blood Jasper" this unusual stone is actually a mix of Epidote and Piemontite (itself quite an unusual mix) and is mined in South Africa. The mine is on a hill that looks rather like a dragons head and what with the red stone found in its "mouth" - well you can imagine the rest !
There are a lot of stories attached to this stone like the green being the dragons skin and the red its blood and how it is supposed to tame the dragon inside all of us !
It is a great stone however, giving us courage to face difficulties head on and helping us to build on that "real person" who we truly are.
